Everest High Passes - challenging trekking adventureAs the name suggests, this high altitude trek connects Everest base camp, gokyo lakes and takes in the village of Thame. Birthplace of Tenzing Norgay via Kongma La, Cho La and Renjo La high passes.

Quite challenging and requiring a higher degree of fitness, but well within the scope of the seasoned trekker as there is no technical climbing and yet  a real "mountaineering" experience is achieved.

As with most of our treks, Everest High Passes is a lodge based trek, thereby ensuring that most of the money you pay goes directly to the local economy, so the local people benefit directly from their visitors. It also ensures that you will have plenty of opportunities to get to know your hosts.

Your holiday starts in Kathmandu where you will be picked up from the airport on arrival and transported to your comfortable hotel in the heart of the tourist district of Thamel. Day 2 is spent sightseeing in the Kathmandu valley. Day 3 we fly to Lukla and begin our trek via Namche Bazaar where we acclimatise for a couple of days. Days 7 through 12 we ascend via Thyangboche Monastery and Dingboche to the Kongma-La high pass 5540m which takes us to the Khumbu glacier and Lobuche. Days 13, 14 and 15 we spend in the Everest area and visit Everest Base Camp and climb Kala Pattar 5560m for the fantastic views of Mt. Everest from where we can see the various climbing routes to the summit. Days 16, 17 and 18 are spent crossing the Tcho-La 5400m and the Ngozumpo glacier to Gokyo villageand Gokyo Lakes.
